Responsibilities and Duties

Support the General Manager in overseeing staff, scheduling, and daily operations

Lead by example on the sales floor, supporting customer service and staff development

Ensure the garden center is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times

Assist with inventory management, receiving, and merchandising

Work with the team to ensure plant health and proper care routines
-
Help identify and nurture sales leads for our landscape design/build services

Train and mentor employees to provide expert product and plant knowledge

Maintain high standards of customer service, professionalism, and efficiency
-
Collaborate with the GM to implement promotional events and seasonal transitions
-
Step into leadership during GM absences and act as point of contact for team
Job Requirements

Previous experience in a garden center, nursery, or horticulture-related field preferred
-
Solid plant knowledge or a strong interest in learning

Proven leadership and team-building skills

Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities

Comfortable with light physical work and being on your feet throughout the day

Customer-first mindset with the ability to upsell services naturally
-
Ability to operate point-of-sale systems and basic office software
